A Hackathon connecting Brazil & Austria.
This hackathon is an exciting opportunity for individuals from Brazil to come together and collaborate on innovative solutions to address the real-world challenges of Austrian companies.
It takes place on the 2nd and 3rd of September 2023
The challenges
This hackathon is a great way to foster collaboration, innovation, and cross-cultural exchange between these two countries. It provides a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together and work towards creating solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
You will have one weekend to work together in teams of five people to brainstorm ideas, design prototypes, and develop working solutions. Mentors will be available to guide and support the teams as they work on their projects.
You will have the opportunity to attend a workshop on TBD (e.g., various topics related to technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.)
In total, there are three different challenges for you to choose from:
Austrian companies are seeking to tap into Brazilian students’ expertise in microelectronics, semiconductors, automotive, aeronautics, and rail, focusing on artificial intelligence, sustainability, and the SDGs. This hackathon challenge invites Brazilian students to develop innovative prototypes or concepts that showcase their skills and demonstrate the potential benefits of Brazilian expertise to Austrian companies.
Austrian companies specializing in microelectronics and semiconductors are seeking talented Brazilian collaborators to join their teams. In this hackathon challenge, participants need to create a technological solution that aids these Austrian companies to identifying these professionals, here in the country.

The team that scores the most points wins an all-inclusive free trip to Austria, to visit Austrian companies in person.
Who is proposing this challenge?
ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA works to generate more international business opportunities by promoting the products and services of Austrian companies around the world, helping companies and organizations outside of Austria to build strong relationships with Austrian companies, and promoting the exchange of the world’s best minds and innovations and from Austria.
The department WORK in AUSTRIA of the Austrian Business Agency (ABA) is the missing link between Austrian companies and skilled workers from all over the world. We offer help with questions regarding residence permits, Austria as a business location and living and working in Austria. As a subsidiary of the Federal Ministry for Labour and Economy, ABA provides all services free of charge.

Participants must fit into one of the following profiles: Professionals with knowledge in web/mobile application development, web/graphic design, business management and communication.
Technological solutions can be developed (web/mobile) applications and hardware.
The applications are made individually. If you don’t have a team, it will be formed during the Hackathon.
Teams must have a minimum capacity of 3 people and a maximum of 5 people.
No. Solutions must be developed only during the event.
You can go on with your team, but everyone must apply individually.
This event is promoted by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and organized by the Hackathon Brasil Community.
There’s no costs.
The total value of the prize will be distributed equally among the members of each team. Check in the “Awards” section of the website.
Yes! Each participant will receive a digital certificate.
It’s necessary that the team has completed the activities, and sent the project for submission.
The number of hours will appear on the certificates.
